The Lumpkin County Senior Center is a non-profit entity of the Lumpkin County government
located at 266A Mechanicsville Road, Dahlonega, Georgia 30533. The Senior Center
is housed in a 5,760 sq. ft. building and employs a staff of five. Operating
hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Lumpkin County Senior Center has been managed by Lumpkin County
since July 1, 1996. Legacy Link, Inc. is designated by the Georgia Department
of Human Resources as the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for Lumpkin County and is responsible for planning, administration of
programs, coordination and monitoring services in the area. Federal funds authorized
by multiple federal sources are utilized with state funds allocated to the Area Agency on Aging by the Georgia Department
of Human Resources.
Our Philosophy
The
philosophy of the senior center is based on the premise that aging is a normal develop-mental process; that human beings need
peers with whom they can interact and who are available as a source of encouragement and support, and that adults have the
right to have a voice in determining matters in which they have a vital interest.
